The Pie Capital of Louisiana presents the 13th Annual Lecompte Pie Festival. The Lecompte Pie Festival is celebrated on the grounds behind the Old Lecompte High School. Line up for the parade is 9:00 am.  Bring the entire family to enjoy carnival rides, food, live entertainment, vendor boots, and pie contests. And don't forget the parade on Saturday morning!

This event held twice a year is much looked forward to in the community.  Quality plants including herbs, flowers and roses are available for sale.  Plant experts are on hand to assist in selecting the plants perfect for your yard or pots.  A large variety of arts and crafts are available for sale, all handmade, these make perfect holiday gifts!  The Cenla Orchid Society will be having a showing and will as be on hand to answer questions about these beautiful plants. 

Friends of the James C. Bolton Library Book Sale

Audiobooks on tape are $.50, audiobooks on CD are $2.00, DVDs are available for $2.00, hardcover books are $2.00 and paperback books are $.50. 
All proceeds benefit the library.

Ouiskey Chitto Trail in Kisatchie National Forest. This is a trail from 4 to 9 miles depending on how folks want to hike it. Part is along the scenic Ouiskey Chitto stream. There are options to camp at Fullerton Lake Friday or Saturday nights and make an additional two mile, short hike through the ruins of what was the largest pine sawmill west of the Mississippi River in the 1920’s.

Friday, October 16th from 4 PM – 9 PM
in the downtown Alexandria Cultural Arts District.
Fall ArtWalk features over 80 art, craft, and food vendors in a fun, family-friendly environment. A wide variety of items will be available, including stained glass, pottery, handmade jewelry, original paintings, crochet, hand-carved marble, quilting, and more.  Delicious food and drink will be available from 2 Reign Catering, O.L.S. Cookie Jar, Big Ace Burritos, Jack’s, and others.   Performances by SNAZZ, the Desert Jewels, the Cenla Brass Band, DV8, and many more will rock the Mini-Park Stage from 4 PM – 9 PM. In addition, the Alexandria Museum of Art will lead the beautiful “Be the Light” Luminary Procession at 7:30 PM.  Fall ArtWalk has something for everyone to enjoy!
