Garden District Holiday Tour of Homes

From 3:00PM to 6:00PM

JOIN US for this year’s Holiday Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This annual event is sponsored by the Garden District Neighborhood Foundation of Alexandria, Louisiana.
About the event: For one beautiful Saturday afternoon, EVERYONE is invited to take a guided tour of FIVE of the Garden District’s most unique and historic homes. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each on Eventbrite OR day-of at First United Methodist Church on Jackson Street, which will serve as the jumping off point for tour attendees.
Till then, DAYDREAM of this… Imagine walking into a 100 year old home in the historic center of Alexandria, admiring holiday garland and twinkling lights, feeling the warmth of the crackling wood burning in the brick fireplace, and tasting freshly brewed apple cider from the host’s kitchen. It’s a sensory experience with architectural details to boot.
Why make THIS a part of your holiday traditions? Attending the Holiday Tour of Homes is a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the vitality of the Garden District. Through this event, we raise the necessary funds to support our neighborhood organization’s events and projects all year long. Even more importantly, it’s a chance to experience the magic (and lean into what makes us special), thereby ensuring the protection of our historic neighborhood into the future. ⏳

97th Annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival

Full Color.png

Named after a Native American tribe, Natchitoches (pronounced Nack-a-tish ) is the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase Territory. Since 1927, we are home to one of the oldest community-based holiday celebrations in the country. Starting as a one-day festival, the Natchitoches Christmas Festival has evolved into a six-week long Christmas Season. The Christmas Season begins on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and concludes on January the 6th, the Epiphany. Over 300,000 lights and 100 plus set pieces are on display every night at dusk.
