Holiday Home Tour Returns to Garden District

Alexandria’s Garden District Neighborhood Foundation and the Alexandria Historic Preservation Commission have teamed together again to present a Holiday Tour of Homes .
Four historic homes will be open for tour in the historic Garden District, each with individual history and architectural character. Tour participants begin their tour at the First United Methodist Church, located on Jackson Street, where they can park their car, pick up tickets, and hop on the “Spirit of Alexandria” trolleys. Tickets are $25 and are available for purchase online at www.GardenDistrictNeighborhood.org or in person at Southern Chic Boutique and Main Dish & More in Alexandria.

YWCA - Decades of Women

The YWCA of Alexandria-Pineville will host its sixth annual “Decades of Women” Luncheon on Thursday, November 12 at Alexandria Convention Hall. This event honors six women, one from each decade ranging from 30’s to 80’s+, who have displayed community excellence and achievement. Each candidate should be nominated by members of the community and will be selected by the YWCA Board of Directors.
Awards Luncheon will be open to the public with a limited amount of tickets sold for $35.

22nd Annual Sugar Day Festival at Kent House

Join us for our 22nd Annual Sugar Day Festival here on the grounds as we fire up our 1840's era sugar mill and demonstrate the process of making sugar. Other demonstrations will be ongoing as well such as butter churning, toy making, basket weaving, spinning,wood carving, quilting, soap and candle making, and much more. Our blacksmith will be making tools in the blacksmith shop and our cooks will be cooking in the open hearth kitchen. A huge variety of homemade arts and crafts will be available for sale as well. All kids activities are free in the kid zone.
Jewish Food Festival

The Alexandria Jewish Temple has been hosting the annual Jewish Food Festival since 2007 and offers Deli Style corned beef sandwiches, brisket, bagels, Noodle Kugel, Matzah Ball soup, cold salads, specialty breads and of course, cheesecake.
Adult Tickets are $20 each allow you to select what you want to eat with the option to purchase more.
KidZone Tickets are $10 and include lunch of a kosher hot dog, chips, kosher pickle and treats, along with fun activities including face painting, puppet making, obstacle course, outdoor art and more!
