Governor Bobby Jindal along with Hayes Company CEO James  Hayes, Jr. announced  plans  for  a  $3 million expansion to their manufacturing facility in Pineville yesterday.    They  say this expansion will create about  75  new  jobs with an average salary  of  over  $45  thousand dollars a year, and another 89 indirect jobs in Central Louisiana. Hayes makes metal parts  for clients like Union Tank Car, GE and many others.


A hunter who was reported missing Sunday by  his  family  in Rapides Parish  was  found dead in Boyce. Authorities say 24 year old  Terry McComic's cause  of death has not yet been determined but an autopsy is planned.


Funeral Services will be held today for Cajun artist George Rodrigue, creator of the Blue Dog, who died from cancer last Saturday at the age  of 69.  Rodrige will be laid to rest Friday afternoon in New



Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson is off the hit A&E reality series indefinitely after disparaging gays as sinners akin to adulterers and swindlers. A&E announced Wednesday what it called a “hiatus” for the 67 year old Robertson after he disparaged gays in the January edition of GQ magazine. He also said that, growing up in Louisiana before the Civil Rights movement, he never saw any mistreatment of blacks.


A federal jury convicts a former BP drilling engineer on a charge of obstruction of justice which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. Federal  prosecutors proved that Kurt Mix intentionally deleted text

messages  from   his   cellphone   in  an  attempt  to  obstruct  an investigation into the 2010 BP spill. The 52 year old man from Katy, Texas faces sentencing on March 26th.


A 15-year-old North DeSoto High School student is in a youth detention  center in Coushatta after allegedly threatening to shoot 3 elementary  students, if they didn't hand over their lunch money. DeSoto Parish  Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle says the incident took place on a school bus. The student charged in the case disassembled a semi-automatic pistol and used a part of that weapon to make it out like he  had a gun.


A  north  Louisiana  child porn suspect is scheduled to make a court appearance today. Chris  Nixon  was  arrested this week at a home near  the  Jackson  Parish  town  of  Jonesboro   and  charged  with production of child pornography. Nixon  is  21  years old according to his Facebook page and a recent grad of Quitman High School.


Twelve-year NFL vet Shayne Graham will handle the field goal kicking for  the Saints in Sunday's big NFC South matchup with Carolina. Graham was  31-of-38 on field goals with the Houston Texans last year. He hit a  career-long 55 yard field goal in the postseason.


Making  it  easier  on  our Christmas budgets, the gas  price  keeps falling.  The  American  Automobile  Association  says  the  current statewide average for a gallon of regular is now $3.07.


New  Orleans  Police  are  investigating  the  fatal  shooting of an armored car guard Wednesday  morning, as he was unloading money at a Chase bank branch near downtown. Three men approached the armored  car and opened fire, taking money and driving away. Police found the getaway car, and are still seeking the gunmen.


The Houma Police  Department  say a man is under arrest after he was caught driving drunk on his way  home  from  drug  court, with his 8 year old daughter in the vehicle. They say 36 year old Robert Joseph of  Galliano  is  charged with driving while intoxicated  and  child endangerment and was  booked  into  the  Terrebonne Parish Jail. The little girl was released to a family member.
