Tiger fans are Atlanta bound this Saturday as the Bayou Bengals take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game.  StubHub spokesperson Erin Exum says over a thousand tickets are currently available with an average price of $567. Exum also says be sure to purchase your tickets from a reputable reseller and not a scalper..  

The Tigers are a touchdown favorite to win on Saturday.


Republican Congressman Mike Johnson still feels strongly that the impeachment inquiry is a charade; this ahead of today’s House Judiciary Committee hearing over the case. Johnson says he hasn’t had access to the underlying evidence that has been gathered by the House Intelligence Committee, adding they’ve been secretive. Johnson says a number of House Democrats who have predetermined this political outcome, with some vowing to impeachment just days into the Presidency. There are 17 Republicans on the Committee of 41.


There are few details on this story but authorities are reporting 41 year old Herbert Pollard Jr. of Lecompte has been arrested on charges of criminal sexual conduct with juveniles.  Pollard was charged with three counts of aggravated crimes against nature. His bond has been set at $450,000.


Louisiana is the first state in the nation to allow Medicaid recipients to enroll via an app.

Medicaid Deputy Director Jen Katzman says Healthy Louisiana has been popular with users so far, garnering a 4.5 star rating on app stores for its ease of use, and utility.

LDH advertises that the app also simplifies the process for choosing between the five managed care plans. Along with options for enrollment in one of the state’s health plans, Katzman says you can also use it to look up nearby providers.


An Arkansas man is under arrest after allegedly shooting his way into an empty West Monroe School and barricaded himself in a bathroom in hopes of sparking a standoff with police. Jeffery Smith allegedly fired over a dozen shots in the school. Just one problem, Sgt. CJ Beck says the police never came because the school’s burglar alarm never went off. So after 12 hours Smith went home. He was later arrested.


Two men have lost their jobs with Livingston Parish Public Works after allegedly stealing guns from a home while they were supposed to be working. Livingston police chief Randy Dufrene says 37-year-old Kelby Henderson and 24-year-old Adam Church knew the homeowner was a gun collector. Dufrene says they also used a parish vehicle to drive to the victim’s home.


The St. Martinville City Council held a special session Tuesday to discuss the contents of a packet mailed from an anonymous sender, accusing St. Martinville Chief of Police Richard "Ricky" Martin of owning a falsified GED certificate. Chief Martin addressed the city council and provided proof that his GED certificate was not falsified. He raised concerns about how this packet, mailed from an anonymous source, had content from his confidential personnel file, which is held at city hall. The St. Martinville City Council voted unanimously to fully investigate all parties involved in the defamation of character against Chief Martin.


The driver of a tanker truck that spilled thousands of gallons of gasoline Monday near the Interstate 10 bridge at Port Allen had a suspended driver's license. Environmental crews continued to work Tuesday to clean up the area while limits were placed on access to the Port of Greater Baton Rouge.


The performance of Louisiana teams on the football field is resulting in a spike in sports apparel sales.  Sara Sanders is the co-owner of the Purple and Gold Sports Shop in Baton Rouge and says many fans are inquiring about the specialized jersey that Joe Burrow wore when he took the field for the final time at Tiger Stadium. Sanders says the Black and Gold Sports Shop is also seeing a spike based on the success of the 10-and-2 Saints and several players are seeing strong sales on their jerseys as well.




In N-F-L news , the Panthers have fired longtime head coach Ron Rivera. Carolina is 5-and-7 and they just lost to the Redskins.


Seattle’s win over Minnesota Monday night gives the Saints the number one seed in the N-F-C playoffs. New Orleans hosts San Francisco this Sunday.
