Rapides Parish Library Summer Reading Program Entertainment: Lady Chops!
Elizabeth Vidos, also known as Lady Chops, is bringing her one woman drumming show to the Rapides Parish Library this summer! She is a talented percussionist whose past work includes performing in the hit show "STOMP." Her program titled "Drum Roll Please" is energetic, interactive and fun for all ages as she incorporates over 15 different instruments including buckets, body percussion, and the Cajun rub board.
She will visit the following branches:

CORDARO BASKETBALL 2017 YOUTH CAMP - JUNIOR GENERALS CAMP
Central Louisiana girls and boys interested in learning basic basketball fundamentals have several opportunities this summer to learn from one of the hottest coaches in the country in LSUA’s Larry Cordaro. Cordaro, along with assistant coaches and student athletes from the three-time defending Red River Athletic Conference Champion LSUA Generals basketball team will lead the camps for the fourth consecutive year. All camps will take place in the Fitness Center at LSUA, otherwise known as The Fort. Campers will learn basic fundamentals as well as shooting and ball handling skills in a fun, safe, and educational environment. A day camp for those ages 12-15 is available June 5-7 from 8:30am until 4:30pm at a cost of $125. From June 12-15 an early risers camp is available for those ages 7-13 for $100 from 8:00am until noon. The one-day Junior Generals camp will be held June 21 from 9:00am until noon for those ages 4-7 for $25. Another early risers camp is available July 10-13 for ages 7-13 for $100 and will be 8:00am until noon. A next level camp is available for ages 14-18 from July 25-27 from 4:30pm until 7:30pm for $50. Finally, a third early risers camp will be held July 31 through August 4 from 8:00am until noon for ages 7-13 for $125. STEPScenla Glo Fest 2017

It's time to get your GLO on!!!
Join STEPScenla as we host our 1st Annual Glo-Fest in Downtown Alexandria, La. As dusk falls over the Red River, STEPScenla supporters will break through the runners' shoot to embark on a 1-mile fun run in a quest to achieve the perfect glow . Along the course, participants will enter three backlight zones where glo-paint and UV color powder will add a load of color excitement to your Glo-Fest attire. At the end of the course, participants will cross the finish line as they arrive to an unforgettable Glo-Fest Block Party!!!
Jam packed with backlights, color explosions, music and dance, foam cannon explosions, and much more, this is an event you don't want to miss.
Your contribution from registering for GLO_FEST 2017 will benefit Children's Miracle Network and our 2017 STEPScenla Heroes.
