Dinner and Silent Auction to Benefit Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition

Alex Winter Fete

On December 3, 2015, the festival will kick off with the beginning of the City’s annual 12 Nights of Christmas program—including a Griswoldian tree and downtown lighting, event, children’s program, Santa visit, street performers, food vendors, and other surprises. 

On December 4, 2015, the festival will continue at 5 p.m. with a continuation of December 3’s activities and features, while also adding a holiday carnival atmosphere and Holiday Walk, retail and arts and crafts vendors for holiday shopping, food vendors, fireworks, multi-cultural holiday themes and activities from around the world, adding an international holiday flair while allowing Alexandrians to appreciate other cultures and specifically those comprising Central Louisiana.

On December 5, 2015, the festival will feature the vendors, snow globes, snow, and more while then winding down as evening rolls in with an easy-going night.  There will be choices for Saturday evening and night. Those with children can wind the day down at the Alexandria Zoo watching seasonal movies with popcorn, and warm

Holiday Home Tour Returns to Garden District

Alexandria’s Garden District Neighborhood Foundationand the Alexandria Historic Preservation Commission have teamed together again to present a Holiday Tour of Homes . Four historic homes will be open for tour in the historic Garden District, each with individual history and architectural character. Tour participants begin their tour at the First United Methodist Church, located on Jackson Street, where they can park their car, pick up tickets, and hop on the “Spirit of Alexandria” trolleys. Tickets are $25 and are available for purchase online at Garden Districk Neighborhood or in person at Southern Chic Boutique and Main Dish & More in Alexandria.
